“True courage is in facing danger when you are afraid…”
Plot Overview
A tornado whirls Dorothy and her dog into a magical world full of munchkins, witches, and wizards. To go back to her home in Kansas city she seeks the help of the wizard of Oz who lives in Emerald City. On the way, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, who became her companion in her adventurous journey.
My Experience
I have observed that children’s classics is a genre that I really enjoy a lot. Some of my all-time favorite books are from this genre and surprisingly I have read all of them as an adult. To name a few would be: A Little Prince, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, The Secret Garden, and many others. I just get charmed by the inherent goodness and simplicity by which they put across such great ideas to the readers. And these ideas are relevant to people of all ages.
Reading or you can say listening to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was a trip down memory lane, to the days when I was a kid and was always glued to the television watching one or the other cartoon shows. The story, the narration, and the sound effects everything were amazing. I had this constant smile throughout the book.
Conclusion
Even though I didn’t love it as much as the above-mentioned book. It was a pleasurable experience. If you love reading children’s classics then you should definitely check this one out. If you are a parent, then also check this book out for your kids. It is far better than any fairytales that we expose our kids to.
